It's so stimulating being your head.

I picked up a cheap DVD of Labyrinth the other day. I haven't seen it in ages, but on the whole, it fared well against the test of time. Kind of a trip down memory lane. I was never a huge Labyrinth fan, but there were also a couple of genuinely funny scenes. And the creature effects were fabulous, as always.

As a kid, it certainly cemented a lifelong love for David Bowie. This might have had something to do with some halfway decent songs he wrote for the flick, like this one, which featured some awesome 80's production values, fantastic sparkly masks, as well as Jennifer Connelly's teeth*.

Or, on second thought, it may have had a little to do with the costume design, which I found absolutely captivating as an 11-year old girl:

Nah, it was the music.**

*Does she have, like, the sexiest front teeth ever, or is it just me? If teeth can be classified as sexy.

** Seriously though, put some pants on that dude. That movie made me feel funny as a kid. Leggings are not for everyone.

I think they went with the leggings to reassure us that he was, in fact, male. Because it can be hard to tell.

Yeah Bowie is androgytastic sometimes. I mean I would still hump him silly. And Labyrinth is one of my favorite flicks. It DID give me funny feelings as a child about David Bowie, but mostly because he was this seriously older guy who at a couple points in the flick seemed totally infatuated with the 14-year old Connelly....who apparently has had that rack since she was 12. OMG I love me some Bowie.

I totally wished I was her. Not only for getting to dance with David Bowie, but also because those are some AWESOME jeans she gets to wear in that movie. Basically her whole outfit was great and I was so angry that you couldn't actually get clothes and shoes like that in the 80's...

Also, is it just me, or are Bowie's costumes very Christian Siriano? I bet he saw this movie growing up.

I enjoyed reading your post, but there's just one thing that irked me...

Ok ok... I know nobody likes a Snooty McNitpick, and it really is a minor point, but the line is "It's so stimulating being your hat".
